Meditation for the day

Psalm 37:5  Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him and he shall bring it to pass.

Proverbs 16:3  Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.

When we trust in the Lord and commit all our thoughts, plans, works and all the secrets of our heart to Him, He will make sure that everything we do is honoring to HIm and will be blessed.  We can trust Him in everything, and for everything that we need.  He is Jehovah Jireh, our provider.  (Genesis 22:14)

Lilacs.  One of my favorite flowers.  Taken here before they fully opened.  I love the delicate blossoms and leaves.  And they smell unbelievable.

Milestones……….

Graduating High School

Getting the first job

Getting married

Buying the first house

Becoming a parent (twice)

Home schooling my children for 12 years

First child graduates

Second child graduates

Now what?………..

Time to decide what I want to be when I grow up!  :o)

I’m not done being a parent yet, but I have spent the past 32 years being a wife, working girl, mother, cook, housekeeper, home schooling Mom and many other things.   Will there finally be time for the things I want to do now?  Will there finally be time for me?

I love my husband and my children more than I can say.  I also love to knit, I love to sew, and I’m falling in love with quilting.  I love to garden, read, sit in the sun.   Will I have time to do all the things I want to do?  Is this what retirement will be like?

I am finished with most of the demands on my time that came with being a keeper at home.  I am free to be back in the work force even if I work from home, which I love.

I want to continue my work in designing children’s clothing. I want to step it up and let it  be my full time job.  I hope I can make it work.

Saw this this morning.  :D

A few weeks ago I took Amy Herzog’s Fit to Flatter class and now I’m feeling really inspired. During the class I filled in a worksheet with my measurements and fitting tips for every last one. In the past I haven’t knit many sweaters, but that’s but that’s about to change.
Rather than modify someone else’s pattern, I’m writing a one just for me (that will eventually be teched and graded for multiple sizes). I spent a lot of time sketching then drew this diagram, to scale, and the math and pattern writing has been really easy – with plenty of set-in sleeve help from the literary works of Ann Budd, Shirley Paden and Maggie Righetti. They might make a sweater designer out of me yet!
Now, time to cast on.
